Italian Red Sauce By Katie Bell


3/4 cup chopped onion

5 cloves garlic minced

1/4 cup olive oil

In large saucepan over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil till onion is translucent

2 28 ounce cans whole peeled tomatoes

2 tsp salt

1 tsp white sugar

1/2 tsp dried bay leaves

Add ingredients to saucepan. Stir then cover and simmer for 90 minutes, stir occasionally.

1 6 ounce can of tomato paste

3/4 tsp dried basil

1/2 tsp black pepper

Add and simmer for another 20 minutes

I'll make a big batch of this and then put it in the fridge to be used with meals during the week.
